Amy Wins Bronze at World Indoor Championships

At the start of March Amy represented Great Britain at the World Indoor Championships in the 4x400m relay.
Amy along with her teammates initially finished fourth in their final however shortly after were promoted into the Bronze medal position following a Jamaican disqualification. A further turn in events saw the GB&NI team initially disqualified for obstruction however an appeal meant they were eventually reinstated back onto the podium.
“It was a very long, emotional 2 hours waiting to find out what was going on. We finished the race in fourth and were not made aware of the Jamaican disqualification until after passing through all the media. It took 2 hours for the appeals and disqualifications to be finalised and eventually it played to our favour. I’m over the moon at the result. Working at Bennett Engineering has been a key part of my successful season this year. I enjoy the challenge of working in an industry that is so different from my sporting background, it has really helped me create a healthy work/training balance.”
