If you’ve visited our home page you can see that we are no longer called Bennett Engineering Design Solutions; the company has been renamed to Apexis Engineering. This blog outlines why and what the company offers from their industrial unit HQ in Derby.

Why did you change company name?

There are multiple reasons for the renaming of our company including the retirement of our founder whose surname was the company name, the fact that when we moved from our design office to our industrial unit we added services to our portfolio, the full management buyout of the company by Craig Harbron and Seleena Creedon and the need to attract the right enquiries for how the business is now set up.

Did you change anything else other than your company name?

The short answer is no; if you go to Companies House you can see that we still have the same company number, we still have the same address and bank account. It was purely a change of trading name that was changed to better reflect the company today.

What services does Apexis Engineering provide?

We still offer the design for manufacture services that we are known for but we’re now providing the manufacturing, build and installation as well. Afterall who better to take the project from concept to completion than the mechanical design engineer whose completed the detailed design and manufacturing packs? By moving to an industrial unit we have space to build bespoke machinery, customised plant and equipment plus it ensures that what we have designed is what is delivered to our customers. We take the headache away from manufacturers busy teams by managing the project with a turnkey service which utilises a range of experts from our network.

Has Apexis Engineering delivered turnkey services already?

Yes, since we’ve been at our industrial unit we’ve delivered a number of bespoke machines for the building product manufacturing sector, some customised equipment for a gas bottle manufacturer and a range of jigs for a medical manufacturing company. All of these have been from concept to completion whilst still looking after our existing client base with mechanical design engineering support.

What capabilities does Apexis Engineering have?

There’s literally nothing we can’t do to support clients; how we are set up is with a trusted partner network which enables us to tap into the right support for a project when needed. Our partners are all tried and tested and provide the same high quality that Apexis Engineering are known for and deliver for every project.

Does Apexis Engineering offer just manufacturing?

Yes we can do that, if you have a design that needs to be made or components to be manufactured then please feel free to ask. What we can assure you is that we’ll complete a drawing check before anything is manufactured to ensure that what you want making will be to the right specification before it’s made. We have a client who often has complex requirements for items and passes sourcing through to us knowing that we will do the checks to ensure everything is to tolerance and can be made at the right cost for their requirements.

What are the assembly services Apexis Engineering provides?

Due to our location we are able to support OEMs who need extra capacity, want to trial a new product without building it within their existing operations or have machinery that needs an engineering team to build where they don’t want to expand their team. Apexis Engineering provide the space, the value engineering (if required to standardise parts or bring down costs of assembly), the expertise and the capacity to work with OEMs to provide assembly services.
